The Persians were always invited to great feasts, which would be followed by desserts. The Persians drank wine in large quantities to be festive.
The most important ceremony that is still alive today is Nowruz, the celebration of a full rotation around the sun. It is the Persian New Year and first day of spring. Other celebrations are Shabeh Yalda, the longest night of the year; Jashneh Mehrigon, the fall season; and Chorshambeh Soori, prayers for goodness and health. This shows that the Persian traditions and customs created by Cyrus the Great are still amongst our world.
